In celebration of the 1 year anniversary of my show Maestro Knows a few months ago, I created a skateboard as part of a collaborative project with my friends at IN4MATION in Hawaii. I am a skateboarder before everything so this project relates to my heart very matter of factly. All the details, inspiration and other randomness coming soon via video. Only 50 available. I am very proud to announce today, my very first creation of design that will be made available to the public for purchase . After several months of working with Los Angeles based jeweler Shayan Afshar on what began as a personal project of dedication, I have finally come up with something that I feel is undeniable. I began this design with the intention to communicate that when I give my heart & my word to something, then my energy, my love, my mind, & of course my time become infinitely dedicated. Juxtaposing the materials of a translucent plastic band and a casing with a custom made bezel completely emerged in rose gold resulted with very original & classic qualities. This piece is set to be a reminder that when you give your all to something, anything becomes achievable. During the time I was recently in Paris my friend Mathieu from NBP came up with these nice photographs for me.

When one human being reaches out to another to let them know the way they feel, not only have they made an honest offering to be appreciated but they have taken advantage of one of the greatest things life has to offer….touching another human being.

“Dear Maestro,

First off, I guess I should get the specifics out of the way and assure you that (a) I am a normal person and (b) I am not selling anything.

My name is Mickey and I am a newly annointed Stay-At-Home-Dad. I have a 3 year-old terrorist (my wife calls him a “boy”) who, by all accounts, likes to test just how quickly I can respond to daily emergencies.

I’ll be honest with you: I am a HUGE fan of your blog and of your artwork (yep, I consider the videos works of art). And I just wanted to say thank you.

You see, I graduated from NYU in 2004 and went straight into the workforce. Over the years, without realizing it, corporate america slowly began to suck the life out of me. I was making decent money but, life just wasn’t the fun experience I knew it could be. Eventually, I met my wife, we had our son, and life became a cycle of getting paid, paying bills, and just going back to work.

A few years ago, I discovered your blog. I will happily admit that I would visit your site while I was at work. And, little by little, through watching your videos and listening to your infectious positivity, my creative spirit was re-awakened. For various reasons and through a billion different circumstances that life threw my way, I recently found myself, at home, and unemployed. While, initially, it was terrifying to be out of work for the first time in over 6 years, my wife helped me to take it in stride, to slowly realize that maybe this was meant to happen.

And that’s how my own blog developed. To take advantage of my time at home and inspired by some of the content on your blog, I have started to chronicle my daily adventures with my son as we both adjust to me being at home on a full-time basis (here is a link to my blog: http://sippycupsandcufflinks.blogspot.com/). While it is directly related to my experiences as a stay-at-home dad, I wanted to make sure my images and videos reflected the personal style that I had developed after years of living in this gorgeous city. I also wanted to approach them with the level of respect and professionalism I had grown accustomed to on your own site.
I got my degree in History. I know nothing about professional videography or photography but I do know what I like and the people that I respect. You are, without a doubt, one of those people. I just wanted you to know that. And I wanted to say thank you for the part you played in helping me learn to LIVE my LIFE and not letting my LIFE LIVE me.

I can imagine that work, life and the Internet keep you busy but, if the mood should strike you, check out my blog and feel free to email me with any advice/comments/ramblings you may have.

Daniel Benny South Carolina, but I started watching it when I was living in Israel. Started watching it because I heard about you from Phil of The Award Tour and reading a tweet I think mentioning you. Your show does and will continue to inspire me with every single episode. The way its shot, the feelings it gives me, the people you interview, the places you see, the food you eat, you really live an extremely beautiful life. But not only do you live it, but you showcase it to all of us and allow us to take a very intimate look at all of this. I get more from watching 5 minutes of your web series than from any movie, tv show, news report because of how you convey and showcase all of the things you encounter in life. Seeing a new show come up on your site probably excites me more than most anything, and its seriously a pleasure to behold them. I can relate to your take on life, and I really feel like I’m there with you at every turn, a feeling probably shared with all others who follow your series. Please never stop doing these episodes, no matter how big your life may become, because I can’t imagine not being able to look forward to your next venture out into life.

you just make me happy with what you do… and i aspire to be like you… how you travel… i mean i always get burgers now because maestro knows haha… im that into the episodes… the things you do i can relate to in some way… your videos are inspiring alltogether… i mean im 15 and i love your episodes… i feel like i know you and if you were to come here now it would be like ive known you for AGES… your so good with what you do and just keep doing it… i find it so DOPE that you just kept on going no matterwhat anyone said and so youve taught me SO MANY lessons with these episodes… all i can say is keep going…

Today is the 1 year anniversary of a project that is now creating change in other peoples lives all around the world. I started my show to document the amazing memories I have on a day to day basis with my friends & others. Right before I launched, I came to the realization that I was at the starting point of my dreams turning into reality and decided it would be something special to showcase a kid succeeding at the idea of simply leading an exceptional life. Thank you for playing a part, you are now watching history in the making.

My furthest excitement on the trip thus far has been my vehicle….I got a JEEP!!! Since I’ve come into this world I’ve made memories with Jeep and I haven’t been in or around one in years so I’m super pumped that I get to roll out in this now, I feel like a little kid with his toy truck except mine is the real live grown up version that you can peel the top right off of! Yeeeeeaaaaa!

Talented, creative, and cool people are all fine & great but when a simple virtue like kindness outshines them all…well then it seems as though all the others are uniquely enhanced. If I had to imagine or describe one characteristic that makes my friend Yue of the coolest people to be around, I would have to choose kindness. The reason why I’m writing about this is because some of you may or may not have seen his work function as part of the recent Wham Bam Thank You M’amm art show in Hong Kong & when you saw it you may have realized how ridiculously ill this kid is. So now I am simply providing an outlet to inform you how great it feels to see another person that is the real deal, continue to succeed at doing what they love. Yue did my first original Maestro Knows logo which is at the top of this screen right now and I also have a more in depth look into his life that I shot in Paris and am in the process of cutting up right now!
