Had a great last meal with Daichi last night. In-N-Out is his favorite food in the USA he told me, he had a burger for lunch and a burger for dinner, “that’s the American way”. Now he’s off to Japan. See you soon in Tokyo holmes!

I don’t even play baseball anymore.

What is another moment captured? Well the one below reminds me to always trust my gut feeling, you know….listen to yourself. The other day when I landed in Las Vegas for a few hours to speak at Canyon Springs High School I decided last minute to a taxi from the airport. The picture that you see above is about 1min 20secs into our ride when I was still friends with the driver. Shortly thereafter I decided to let him and my mobile phone convince me where I was going instead of going where I knew I needed to. I won’t tell you all the details of our extravaganza because I refuse to write out curse words but 2 drivers & $60 later I ended up speaking to a class room of kids who’s energies & appreciations made the experience worth while. The composition of this photo to me is nothing short of amazing.  Thanks Scott Regan for helping me make memories.

My friend Daichi Ito.

You could speak a sentence about someone who makes others feel miserable, you could write a book about someone who makes others smile, and you could speak volumes for someone like Daichi Ito. Daichi is the type of person who doesn’t seem to know how to frown or how not to enjoy life, he has an excitement and appreciation for nearly everyone & everything around him. It’s been really dope to hang around this guy. Now as he returns to Tokyo after 7 years of Los Angeles, I would like to ask that you would all wish him well at either of the links below. DAICHI!!!! You will be missed holmes!

On top of the world.

What world do you live in?  Sometimes the one we all share gets a bit intense for me so I hop back into my own.  Really, that’s how I grew up….inside my mind, thinking, dreaming and maturing myself one thought at a time.  I have told that story before and I will tell it for a long time because I believe it’s a great way to go about things.  When I think of my life in the last few years as I’ve really had the opportunity since being a teenager to propel it into a 3 dimensional dream…..well that’s exactly what I’ve done.  I’m super thankful to be able to tell this story as well as showcase it with amazing original visuals like the one given above by my favorite visual maker and parallel player The 13thWitness.

It’s really cool how sometimes allowing yourself moments of distraction will prepare for times of motivation and creativity. Cheeseburgers, milkshakes & friends….simplicity wins again.
